Fatal Code by Natalie Walters Review

 Happy Easter Monday Everyone :)

I pray you all had a great weekend celebrating the amazing reason for the Easter season.

I'm Kirby, and I'm thankful that you've chosen to stop by The Preppy Book Princess today.

Last year, I had the opportunity to read and review the first title in Natalie Walters' The SNAP Agency series, and I loved it. You can check out that review below:

Lights Out

When I saw the second title pop up on NetGalley, I knew I needed it in my life ASAP, and today I'm here to share with you all whether or not it lived up to my expectations.

Keep reading below for my full review.

Fatal Code by Natalie Walters:

Source: Publisher via NetGalley

Publisher: Revell

Publication Date: 1st, 2022

Genre: Christian Fiction/Suspense/Thriller

Series: The SNAP Agency

Synopsis:

In 1964, a group of scientists called the Los Alamos Five came close to finishing a nuclear energy project for the United States government when they were abruptly disbanded. Now the granddaughter of one of those five scientists, aerospace engineer Elinor Mitchell, discovers that she has highly sensitive information on the project in her possession--and a target on her back.

SNAP agent and former Navy cryptologist Kekoa Young is tasked with monitoring Elinor. This is both convenient since she's his neighbor in Washington, DC, and decidedly inconvenient because . . . well, he kind of likes her.

As Elinor follows the clues her grandfather left behind to a top-secret nuclear project, Kekoa has no choice but to step in. When Elinor learns he has been spying on her, she's crushed. But with danger closing in on all sides, she'll have to trust him to ensure her discoveries stay out of enemy hands.

Natalie Walters sucks you into the global race for space domination in this perfectly paced second installment of her SNAP Agency romantic suspense series.

My Review:

Natalie Walters has become one of my all time favorite authors, and Fatal Code was a wonderful reminder as to why this is. I was really looking forward to reading Kekoa's story, and I actually ended up loving this one even more than I did the first book in the series.

Full of action, adventure, and suspense, and rounded out with a beautifully developed romance, and a well crafted mystery, this was one that I didn't want to put down, and it honestly kept me guessing right until the end. I love how this author always gives the readers characters that are both endearing and realistic, and the team dynamic in this series is definitely one of my favorite parts.

While the faith element is never over the top in Natalie Walters' stories, it always plays an important part, and I especially loved how it was all wrapped into the main female protagonist (Elinor's) childhood nickname. I also appreciated the fact that although Kekoa was kind of the comedic relief character in the first title, we definitely get to see a deeper side of him in this one, and he's definitely one of my favorite book characters of the year.

All in all, Fatal Code is a thrilling, faith based page turner that was everything I was hoping for and more. I hadn't pieced together who the mastermind villain was by the end of the story, and I love how often that's the case with this author's books. I've become a lifelong fan of her wonderful suspense reads, and I can't wait to continue to follow along on her future writing endeavors.

Final Rating: 5/5.

I can't possibly recommend this one enough.

Thanks so much to Revell for allowing me to read and review this one!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the publisher (Revell) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks so much for reading guys! I pray you all have a great rest of your day, and that you're finding many new fantastic Christian fiction titles to sink your teeth into!

(not literally though, that would perhaps be a little strange)

A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
