The Bride of Ivy Green by Julie Klassen Review

 Hello Friends :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and I want to thank you all for joining me for another book review here on The Preppy Book Princess.

Today's honestly kind of a sad day for me, as it's time to share my last review of the Tales from Ivy Hill series by Julie Klassen.

Over the last few months, these characters have really started to feel like old friends, and I'm so sad to have to finally say goodbye to them all.

I can't recommend this beautiful series enough, and you can check out my reviews of the other books in the series using the links below:

The Bride of Ivy Green by Julie Klassen:

Source: Libby App

Publisher: Bethany House

Publication Date: December 4th, 2018

Genre: Christian Fiction/Historical Fiction

Series: Tales From Ivy Hill

Synopsis:

Much has happened in idyllic Ivy Hill in recent months, and while several villagers have found new love and purpose, questions remain--and a few dearly held dreams have yet to be fulfilled.

Jane Bell is torn. Gabriel Locke is back and has made his intentions clear. But Jane is reluctant to give up her inn and destine another man to a childless marriage. Then someone she never expected to see again returns to Ivy Hill. . . .

Mercy Grove has lost her school and is resigned to life as a spinster, especially as the man she admires seems out of reach. Should she uproot herself from Ivy Cottage to become a governess for a former pupil? Her decision will change more lives than her own.

A secretive new dressmaker arrives in the village, but the ladies soon suspect she isn't who she claims to be. Will they oust the imposter, or help rescue her from a dangerous predicament?

In the meantime, everyone expects Miss Brockwell to marry a titled gentleman, even though her heart is drawn to another. While the people of Ivy Hill anticipate one wedding, an unexpected bride may surprise them all.

Don't miss this romantic, stirring conclusion to Tales from Ivy Hill.

My Review:

This series has been one of my favorites I've read this entire year, and I'm so sad to have finally come to its end. I love how all these characters came to feel like old friends, and the town of Ivy Hill came to feel like a real place that I would have loved the chance to have gotten to visit.

Over the course of the series, I've enjoyed each and every one of the main characters, and I couldn't wait to see both Mercy and Jane finally get their happily ever after's. So much heart is written into what each of these characters are going through, and my heart literally broke for them both. Jane is scared of taking another chance on marriage, when her previous marriage left her with so many scars from her infertility struggles. Mercy has always tried to be polite and content no matter where life finds her, but her new place as a houseguest in her previous home that now belongs to her brother and his stuffy wife definitely isn't the best of situations.

As Mercy and Jane both strive to find what path God intends to lead them on, the reader goes right along on the journey with them, and I kept trying to truly take my time through this one as I didn't want to see it end.

Julie Klassen is truly a master storyteller, and while Ivy Hill has been my first experience with any of her books, I honestly can't wait to read more of them in the very near future. The Bride of Ivy Green was honestly everything I was hoping for, and I truly loved how she chose to conclude this heartwarming Regency Era trilogy.

Final Rating: 5/5.

I honestly cannot recommend this entire series enough, and it will be definitely be one I will find myself rereading in the future.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
