Bookish Christmas Haul 2019 :)

Happy Friday Everyone :)

I hope you all had a great New Years, and a great start to 2020.

Ever since I first started my book blog back in 2015, I've shared my Christmas book haul with all of you guys.

This year I really went back and forth as to whether or not I was going to do one. I know a lot of people think they're tactless, and such, and I totally understand that.

After debating about it for the past week, I finally decided I was going to go ahead and do one anyways. I love looking back on these to remember when I received the books I own and such, and they're kind of just a fun post to get to do.

I did decide however to only share the books and bookish items I received, as I felt it would be a bit much to go over each and every gift I received for Christmas this year.

As always, I just want to state that Christmas is definitely not about the gifts. It's about the miracle that was the birth of our Savior, and celebrating Jesus.

I in no way want this post to come across as offensive. I just thought it would be fun to share with all of you guys.

I'm extremely thankful for the amazing gifts I received this year from my family and friends, and you can definitely tell how well they all know me.

If you're interested in seeing my previous Christmas books hauls, here's 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Now let's go ahead and jump right into the post.

First off, I received four middle grade titles that I'm very excited about. I've actually read all four of these already, but I needed my own copies to complete the series. I received Yours Truly and Mother Daughter Book Camp by Heather Vogel Frederick, and two more Kingdom Keepers novels by Ridley Pearson.

I received four more Amy Clipston novels, and I've only read two of these already. I'm very much looking forward to reading more of her books in 2020.

I now have my own copies of Jaime Jo Wright's first three amazing novels, and I can't wait to reread these and use them in bookstagram photos.

I received several young adult contemporaries this year, and that's awesome as it continues to be one of my favorite genres. Pushing The Limits and Only a Breath Apart by Katie McGarry, Lost in Love by Susane Colasanti, We Were Liars by E Lockhart, and Arrows by Melissa Gorzelanczyk.

I received a few dystopians too, which is awesome as I haven't read too many from this genre lately. The Emerald Sea and Midnight Jewel by Richelle Mead and The Thousandth Floor and The Dazzling Heights by Katharine McGee.

Crossing The Line by Simone Elkeles, The Long Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, and A Curse Do Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer are all titles I'm very much looking forward to reading.

Two of the titles I was the absolute most excited about: Maybe This Time by Kasie West and The Bookworm Crush by Lisa Brown Roberts.

I also received three other young adult contemporaries that I've already read and loved. Just Like The Movies by Kelly Fiore, Cold Day In The Sun by Sara Biren, and Up To This Pointe by Jennifer Longo.

Another three titles I was very excited to receive:

The first title in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Hufflepuff edition of Prisoner of Azkaban, and the fourth title in the Miss Peregrines Peculiar Children series.

I received another four Christian fiction titles, and the only one I've read of these is the Becky Wade one. Angela Hunt and Roseanna M White will both be new authors for me, and I'm excited for another Denise Hunter title that I have yet to read.

My hubby purchased me a Hermoine Grainger wand from expo this year, and he also gifted me with this gorgeous Hogwarts tote bag from Kay Pop Art Studio. I can't wait to use both of these in my Bookstagram photos.

I received my very first illustrated edition of Harry Potter, and another Harry Potter Charmed Aroma candle.

One of my best friends gave me this adorable chocolate frog figurine (which once again will be perfect for Bookstagram), and my hubby got this adorable mini sign from the Hallmark store.

Lastly, one of my favorite gifts this year was this beautiful Bible study journal that my sister gave me for Christmas. I've already started using it for the yearly Bible study I'm taking part in, and I already love it.

I'm thankful for the amazing Christmas I was able to have with my family and friends this year, and I can't wait to start diving into many of these titles.

Thanks so much for stopping by The Preppy Book Princess today guys! I hope you all have a great rest of your day, and a great weekend.

This is not a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. The photos were taken by me, and belong to me.

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Characters I'd name a child/cat/dog/car/ etc After.

Happy Tuesday guys! I enjoyed Top Ten Tuesday so much last week, that I decided to go ahead and take part again this week. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and The Bookish, and here's the link to the main page if you're interested in becoming a part of it: http://www.brokeandbookish.com/p/top-ten-tuesday-other-features.html Today's topic is: Ten Characters I'd Name A Child/Cat/Dog/Car/ etc After, and I think it's going to be a really fun one. First, Characters I'd Name a Pet after: 1) Katsa from Kristin Cashore's Graceling: I have to start with Katsa, since it is actually what we named our adorable black and white kitten almost a year ago. She's grown so much since this picture, but this was taken right after we decided on her name. We tried several different book characters, but Katsa is the one she loved right away, and so is what we ended up going with. 2) Rose from Richelle Mead's Vampire Academ...
