First Line Friday: Puzzle Pieces

Happy Friday Everyone :)

I hope you've all head a great week, and that you're all looking forward to the weekend.

I will be working for most if it, but I am looking forward to hopefully have some time to curl up with a great book or two.

For today's edition of First Line Friday, which is hosted by the lovely ladies over at Hoarding Books, I'm going to feature the first line from a fun, sweet novella I had the pleasure of reading earlier this week.

Puzzle Pieces by Rachael Bloome:

About The Book:

Elle Montgomery believes every person has one perfect match ~ their puzzle piece. And she designed a dating app to prove it. But when her childhood crush, Graham Dalton, returns home for his brother's wedding, he challenges everything she thought she knew about love.
Graham Dalton never forgot the woman he left behind. And when he returns home to San Francisco for a second chance with his first love, he's more than happy to stand-in as her fake boyfriend to improve the public image of her dating app company.
But as old feelings resurface, Elle starts to receive anonymous messages through her dating app. And things only get more complicated when a long-kept secret from their past is uncovered.
In the end, will Elle find her missing puzzle piece? Or will her world fall to pieces?

My Thoughts:

Puzzle Pieces was an extremely sweet and adorable story, and I loved it. I really enjoy Rachael Bloome's writing style, and how well developed and three dimensional her characters are. This is perfect for anyone, like me, who adores sweet romance movies on the Hallmark Channel, and I'm very much looking forward to reading more books from this author in the future. I especially enjoyed how this one is about two high school friends who meet again years later, and end up entering into a pretend relationship in order to help with some obstacles the female lead is currently dealing with.

First Line:

"Elle Montgomery wanted nothing more than a cozy night in."

What book are you currently reading? Share the first line down in the comments, and then hop on over to Hoarding Books to see who else is participating this week.

Happy Friday and Happy Reading :)

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest
