First Line Friday: Take a Chance on Me

Happy Friday Everyone :)

I pray that this week finds you safe and healthy, and protected from all the craziness in these uncertain times.

I'm going to be off of work for a couple of weeks, and will not be leaving my house unless absolutely necessary.

I've been enjoying catching up on the pile of ARC's I have releasing in the next few weeks, and the one I'm most excited about is probably Becky Wade's upcoming release. Before I could get to that one though, I needed to read the prequel novella that she recently released, and it's going to be my pick for this week's First Line Friday. If you're unfamiliar with First Line Friday, it's a weekly meme hosted by the lovely ladies at Hoarding Books, and it simply involves sharing the first line of the book you're currently reading.

Take a Chance on Me by Becky Wade:

About the Book:

When baker Penelope Quinn steps in to help her brother’s family through a medical crisis, she’s forced into close proximity with charming Air Force fighter pilot Eli Price.

Penelope has one iron-clad dating rule—she does not date airmen. Months ago, she relaxed her rule with Eli and immediately lived to regret it. After a long deployment, he’s now back in Misty River and, to her dismay, she finds him just as tempting as always.

Eli’s spent months thinking about funny, feisty, creative Penelope. He once leveraged his focus and drive to become a pilot, his childhood dream. Now he's set on leveraging that same focus and drive in order to convince Penelope to give him one more chance.

This romantic prequel novella introduces readers to the quaint mountain town of Misty River and a brand-new series from Christy-winning author Becky Wade!

My Thoughts:

Becky Wade is one of my all time favorite authors, and I have yet to be disappointed in a book by her. I think that Take a Chance on Me is a fantastic teaser to her upcoming Misty River Romance series, and I can't wait to dive into the first book.

First Line:

"The hospital's electronic doors whooshed open as Penelope Quinn rushed toward the emergency room."

What book are you currently reading? Be sure and share the first line in the comments, and then hop on over to Hoarding Books to see who else is participating this week.

Happy Friday everyone and Happy Reading!

My first line is from Silent Shadows by Natalie Walters:

Pecca Gallegos never thought she’d be turning down a marriage proposal—much less four of them.

    Just finished this wonderful book!

About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often.
