Puzzle Pieces by Rachael Bloome Review

Hello Everyone :)

How has your week been going so far?

Mine's been a little crazy as I've been picking up a lot of extra shifts at work lately. It's been good though too as it's allowed me time to check some more things off my to do list at work.

However, because of how much I've been working, I haven't had quite as much time for reading and reviewing.

When these situations emerge, one of my favorite things to do is read novella length books. It allows me to still be able to read, and still have time to write reviews on my blog for you guys.

Recently I finished a lovely little clean romance novella, and today I'm excited to share it with you all.

Rachael Bloome's The Clause In Christmas was one of my favorite reads from last year, and you can find that review here. I was really excited to dive into another story from her.

If you love twice the romance in half the pages, you'll love this page-turning novella!

Graham Dalton never forgot the woman he left behind. And when he returns home to San Francisco for a second chance with his first love, he's more than happy to stand-in as her fake boyfriend to improve the public image of her dating app company.
But as old feelings resurface, Elle starts to receive anonymous messages through her dating app. And things only get more complicated when a long-kept secret from their past is uncovered.
In the end, will Elle find her missing puzzle piece? Or will her world fall to pieces?

My Review:

Puzzle Pieces is an adorable romance story that features two of my favorite tropes: a friends to something more romance and a fake relationship that grows into something real. Elle and Graham were best friends in high school, but they didn't go on to a happily ever after. Years later, they finally reunite, and both realize the feelings from high school are still there. However, both believe the feelings are one sided, and neither wants to risk the friendship to find out for sure.

When Elle's newest business decisions require her to appear in a long term relationship, it could be the answer they've both been looking for to enter into a fake relationship. However, it could also just as easily go the other way, and maybe their chance of a relationship is doomed before it's ever even had a chance to officially start.

I really enjoyed this heart warming story, and I think it's perfect for any fans of clean romance stories or of adorable romance movies on the Hallmark Channel. Elle and Graham's friendship was beautiful, and the twist at the end was one that I never saw coming, and left me honestly quite surprised. I've stated in a review before that Rachael Bloome has a beautiful way with words that truly bring her characters and setting to life, and I really found that with this story as well. San Francisco was the perfect backdrop for a Valentine's themed romance, and I loved the inclusion of Graham's family's vineyard as well.

I will definitely be recommending this one, and anyone who picks it up is definitely in for a sweet treat. I particularly loved the passage where the reader realizes where the title Puzzle Pieces came from, and it made me honestly love the story even more. I also have to say that I'm extremely impressed that the author was able to weave such an intricate story within a novella word count. The romance was really well developed for only having such a short timeline to work within.

Final Rating: 4/5

I really can't wait to read more from Rachael in the future.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Have a great rest of your day :)

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

First Line Friday: The Inheritance

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all had a great week and that you're staying safe no matter where you are. I haven't been leaving my house much lately other than for work, and because of this, I've had lots of reading time on my hands. Last year my hubby and I took a road trip that included a visit to our favorite bookstore, and we decided to each pick a book that wouldn't be our first choice. The purpose was to try and read something that still interested us, but would maybe be a bit different than what we would typically go for first. My pick ended up being The Inheritance by Michael Phillips, a book I actually ended up being quite excited about, despite never having heard of it prior. Unfortunately, it ended up sitting on my bookshelf ever since, and I'm so thankful I finally got the opportunity to pick it up and start reading it this past week. The Inheritance by Michael Phillips: About the Book: The death of the clan patriarch h...
