 Happy Friday Sweet Friends :)

I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you've decided to drop on by The Preppy Book Princess today for another book review.

I'm Kirby, and I'm always happy to welcome you to my little bookish corner of the internet.

It's October, and that means it's time for more Christmas book releases, and subsequently, more Christmas book reviews.

Getting to read Mandi Blake's new Christmas releases has become another of my fave traditions at this time of the year, and today I can't wait to tell you guys all about her upcoming release in this year's Christmas in Redemption Ridge collection.

I hope you'll all keep on reading down below for today's full review.

Healing the Cowboy by Mandi Blake:

Source: Complimentary Copy Provided by the Author as Part of Her ARC Team

Publication Date: October 23rd, 2024

Genre: Christian Fiction/Contemporary Romance/Christmas Read

Series: Christmas in Redemption Ridge

Synopsis:

Will her dedication to tending her friend’s injury allow him to get close enough to heal her wounded heart?

Nora St. James returns from helping out her uncle in Texas to find her family ranch falling apart. Her dad’s gambling addiction is out of hand, and they’re on the verge of losing everything.

Clint Taylor knows exactly what he wants, and it’s the one woman who is immune to his charms–his best friend, Nora. She’s determined and independent, and while he loves those things about her, they also help her keep him at arms’ length.

Nora has too many problems to worry about romance, but her flirty best friend is pulling out all the stops. If he keeps pursuing her, she might not be able to resist much longer.

When an injury lands Clint in a cast and Nora’s ranch isn’t safe anymore, she comes to Taylor Ranch to care for him and help keep things going until he heals. The Christmas season has Nora opening her heart, but if she lets her guard down, she might lose her best friend, her job, and her home.

Return to Redemption Ridge, Colorado and enjoy the faith, friendships, and forever-afters in this Christian Christmas Romance.

Healing the Cowboy is book 8 in the Christmas in Redemption Ridge series, but each of the books can be read on their own.

My Review:

Healing the Cowboy is Mandi Blake's contribution to the 2024 lineup of Christmas in Redemption Ridge. A friends to something more romance, this beautiful story touches on some hard topics, is swoon worthy and clean, and keeps the faith element at the front and center.

Readers everywhere are going to adore Nora and Clint, and the tumultuous journey they find themselves on towards happily ever after. Clint has been silently carrying a torch for his best friend for as long as he can remember, but he's not sure how to go about telling Nora how he feels. Nora suddenly seems to see something changing in the friendship she's had with Clint for years, but she's scared that becoming more will cause the loss of one of the most important relationships in her life. However, neither can deny the fact that feelings are starting to emerge, and as they learn to trust their Heavenly Father with guiding them where He wants them to go, they both might just find what their hearts have been searching for.

Mandi's stories never disappoint me, and I love how each time I pick up one of her books I'm treated to a story that comes right from her heart, with characters that feel like old friends in no time, and a beautiful romance that gives all the feels while still being God honoring, and not filled with lust that's becoming the norm in so many contemporary romances these days.

This title was truly beautiful, and the perfect read to get you into the mood for the Christmas season. I can't recommend it enough, and I especially loved how it was kind of a combination of a cowboy romance/small town romance, and the fact that the author did justice to one of my all time favorite tropes (friends to something more.)

Final Rating: 5/5.

Thanks so much to Mandi Blake for allowing me to advance read and review this one!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary advance reader copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and this is my honest review.

Thanks so much for reading guys! I pray you all have a wonderful weekend :)

First Line Friday: Carolina Breeze

Happy Friday Everyone :) I hope you're all having a great week! Mine has actually been pretty good. We've had some really nice days, and my husband and I were finally able to put our garden in, and various flowers and the like. We've also had a couple of lovely, rainy days as well, and I love how green everything is looking in our yard right now. For today's post, I'm excited to once again be linking up with the lovely Hoarding Books  for another edition of First Line Friday. This fun weekly meme simply consists of sharing the first line of the book you're currently reading. A struggling innkeeper. And a romantic mountain getaway that changes everything. Rising Hollywood star Mia Emerson is looking for a safe place to land in the wake of a public breakup a...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...

Happy Friday Friends :) I hope you're all enjoying the last little bit of summer. Are you sad to see summer come to an end, or are you looking forward to fall? I personally love fall and it's my all time favorite season. However, I always find the changing of the seasons a tad bittersweet, although I'm very much looking forward to all the wonderful things fall brings with it.
