Worst Books I Read In 2016

Good Morning Fellow Readers :) Now That Blogmas is over, I'm going to be working really hard to get my blog back on a regular three times a week posting schedule. Blogmas was definitely a lot of fun, but also quite a bit of work, and very time consuming, so it may take me a few days to get everything back in order again. I hope you guys all had a great Christmas! Ours just finished last night, as we celebrated with my dad yesterday, and I definitely feel like I've hit a food wall. It was a really fun few days, but I'm definitely ready for some down time, and healthier eating again. I know that Christmas is now officially over, but I do still plan on sharing a couple of more "Christmassy" themed posts in the next week or so, including "What I Included In My TBTB Santa box", "what I Received For Christmas This Year", and also possibly a DITL of my various Christmas celebrations."  However, for today's post I want to move on i

Blogmas Day 25: Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone!  It's the last day of Blogmas guys, and I'm so proud that I made it through the whole thing.  Today I simply want to say Merry Christmas, and thank you all for sticking with me this month.  I hope your holidays will be filled with lots of love and laughter and time spent with loved ones.  Here's to quality time with the people we love, and lots of yummy food!  I look forward to what 2017 has in store for my blog.  Merry Christmas all my fellow readers, and Happy Birthday Jesus :)

Blogmas Day 24: The Christmas Song Book Tag

Merry Christmas Eve Everyone, and Welcome to the 24th Day of Blogmas :) I just got home from work, and of course it was crazy busy like it always is right before Christmas, and I'm about to head over to my Mom's to help with starting to prepare food for tonight. However, I definitely didn't forget about Blogmas, and before I go celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior with my family, I wanted to post this fun Christmas book tag that I've seen on several different blogs this last little while. This particular tag is called "The Christmas Song Book Tag", and it was created by Hailey in Bookland on Youtube. You can watch the original video here. Let's Go Ahead and Get Started! 1) You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch: Name a villainous character you couldn't help but love: Warner from the Shatter Me series. For some odd reason I loved his character right from the start, and was rooting for him throughout the entire series.  2) All I Wan

Blogmas Day 23: January TBR

Welcome To Blogmas Day 23 Guys :) I can't believe Christmas Eve is tomorrow, and I also can't believe that I've managed to stick with Blogmas this entire time. I have to say that I'll definitely miss it once it's over, but at the same time, I think I'll be glad to have a little bit more free time on my hands. Today's post is going to be a look at some of the books included on my January TBR list. I say "some" because I know after opening Christmas presents I will definitely want to be adding some of my new books to the list, so I'm keeping my current TBR pile for January to be pretty small. Here's the books I'm hoping to get to next month: Departures by Robin Jones Gunn: I read both The Christy Miller series and The Sierra Jensen series a long time ago, however, after recently starting Christy and Todd The Married Years, I realized that there's a lot of books in the spin off series, or stand alone novels that conne

Blogmas Day 22: Series I Hope To Finish In 2017

Hey Guys, and Welcome To Blogmas Day 22 :) For Tomorrow's Blogmas, I will be sharing some of the books on my January TBR List, but I thought for today's post, that it would be fun to share with you guys some of the series I hope to finish in 2017. There's been a few series for me over the last few years that I've just never got around to finishing, even though I always meant to, and so 2017 is the year I hope to fix that. First off, I definitely want to finish The Lunar Chronicles. It's one of my all time favorite series, and Winter has been sitting on my bookshelf since last Christmas. This book is definitely a priority for me, and I can't wait to see how Marissa Meyer wraps up this beloved series. Secondly, I hope to finally finish The Selection series by Kiera Cass. Once again, I only have the last book ( The Crown), to finish, and it's also been sitting on my bookshelf for almost a year. I think I'm honestly just sad to see this all tim

Blogmas Day 21: 2016 Reading Resolution Results

It's Blogmas Day 21 Guys :) As it's getting closer and closer to Christmas, I've found that I haven't had quite as much reading time the last little while. And as I don't expect this to change much over the next few days, I thought today would be a great day to post the results of the Reading Resolutions I set for myself back at the start of 2016, and if you're interested you can read my original post here . My first Bookish resolution was that I set my Goodreads 2016 reading goal to be 350 books!  Results: Unfortunately, this is a goal I didn't even come close to matching, as right now I've only completed 268 books, and I definitely don't see myself finishing 72 books before New Years. I'll probably end up reaching 270 before then, but that will probably be all. However, I'm okay with not making this goal this year, as it shows that in 2016 I was sick a lot less, and as such, I didn't finish quite as many books as I did th

Blogmas Day 20: Slow Cooker Mac And Cheese Recipe

Welcome To Blogmas Day 20 Guys! It's getting closer and closer to the big day, and I don't know about you guys, but I'm finding it harder and harder to get everything done in a day. As such, the slow cooker has become my new best friend, as I can start dinner as soon as I get home from work, and then get all my housework and Christmas planning done while dinner's slowly cooking away. I happened to stumble across an amazing slow cooker macaroni and cheese recipe last week on Pinterest, and I made it over the weekend, and it met with rave reviews from my husband. It's such a super easy recipe to make, and I decided to share it with y'all today, as it's definitely the perfect recipe to have on hand for these chilly, crazy days leading up to Christmas. I found the original recipe on Pinterest, and you can see The Cookie Rookie's original post here Here's How I made It: First, I started by gathering all the ingredients accordi

Blogmas Day 19: Five Books I'd Love To See Santa (Or My Hubby) Leave Under The Christmas Tree

Happy Monday Guys! And Welcome To Blogmas Day Nineteen: I can't believe we're only six days away from Christmas! I'm looking so forward to spending quality time with my hubby, friends and family, and I can't wait to see everyone open the gifts that I had so much fun picking out for them. I also can't wait to celebrate the birthday of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I know I already included a post earlier this month on my Christmas Wishlist, but I still thought it would fun today to share a few of the books I would love to see under the tree on Christmas morning. I know there's that one saying that's always circulating around book blogs and whatnot that states "whoever says I'm hard to shop for must not know where to buy books;" and this is definitely true for me, as I'm always extremely excited and thankful for any gifts I receive, but books are definitely what I usually find myself wanting the most. Here's the one

Blogmas Day Eighteen; DIY Gift Idea: Movie Night Basket

Welcome To Blogmas Day Eighteen Guys :) I hope everyone's having a great weekend so far. Our province is currently unfortunately under an extreme cold weather warning with temperatures predicted to hit between -40 to -44 degrees Celsius, and so since I'm definitely planning on staying warm inside; I thought that today would be the perfect day to share a DIY gift idea. I'm not typically what anyone would call "crafty," and yet I still love tackling DIY projects, regardless of the fact that they usually never turn out as pretty as the original on Pinterest. However, I've never really done DIY gifts for Christmas before, and yet I've always found myself wanting too. This year I happened to stumble across a pin on Pinterest that suggested doing a "movie night basket" as a family gift, instead of buying individual gifts, and I just knew that it was the perfect idea for my niece and three nephews. While mine definitely doesn't look

Blogmas Day 17: Current Christmas Reads

Welcome To Blogmas Day 17 Guys! Can you believe that Christmas is next week? I literally can't believe how fast this month is going by. I've really enjoyed getting to share some different posts than normal for my blog during Blogmas, but today I decided I really wanted to do another bookish post. And so, I'm simply going to share the current Christmas books I'm reading right now. 1) Because It's Christmas by Katherine Spencer: Honestly one of my favorite Christmas reading traditions has become enjoying the new Cape Light novel every year during December. For anyone unfamiliar with this series, it's a contemporary fiction series that was originally written by Thomas Kinkade and Katherine Spencer, and after his passing, she has continued on with writing them. It's become one of my all time favorites, and I believe this is book 18, and it also has a spin off series called Angel Island. I love getting to pick up these books and revisit favorite c

Blogmas Day Sixteen: What Gifts I'm Giving Part Two

Welcome To Blogmas Day Sixteen Guys! Christmas is coming faster and faster, and so today, I thought I would do another  What Gifts I'm Giving For Christmas post. Today I'm going to share a few of the things I've purchased for my hubby this year. I'm not going to include everything, but I thought I would show a few of my favorite things I'm giving this year. And hopefully it will give some of you guys some ideas as well. First off though, I want to state that my husband doesn't always like the typical "guy" stuff that most people feature in their gift guides, and this is particularly because he doesn't like sports. He loves electronics, and certain video games and reading, but he's not a sports fan at all, so that stuff never obviously gets included in what I'm giving him for Christmas.  Since like myself, my husband is a huge reader and especially loves YA, I grabbed him Champion by Marie Lu, and The Reader by
