Blogmas Day 20: Slow Cooker Mac And Cheese Recipe

Welcome To Blogmas Day 20 Guys!

It's getting closer and closer to the big day, and I don't know about you guys, but I'm finding it harder and harder to get everything done in a day. As such, the slow cooker has become my new best friend, as I can start dinner as soon as I get home from work, and then get all my housework and Christmas planning done while dinner's slowly cooking away.

I happened to stumble across an amazing slow cooker macaroni and cheese recipe last week on Pinterest, and I made it over the weekend, and it met with rave reviews from my husband.

It's such a super easy recipe to make, and I decided to share it with y'all today, as it's definitely the perfect recipe to have on hand for these chilly, crazy days leading up to Christmas.

I found the original recipe on Pinterest, and you can see The Cookie Rookie's original post here

Here's How I made It:

First, I started by gathering all the ingredients according to the recipe:

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
4 tablespoons salted butter, cubed
3 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup light sour cream
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) condensed cheddar cheese soup
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp dry mustard
salt and pepper to taste.

As you can see from the picture, I subbed half and half for the regular cream, and I just used plain old regular mustard instead of dry mustard which I usually do in mac and cheese recipes.

Next, The Directions Stated:

1) Bring a 2 quart saucepan of water to boil. Add pasta and cook for 7 minutes or until tender. Set aside.

2) Return the saucepan to the heat, and melt butter and cheese until cheese melts.

3) Combine melted cheese, eggs, sour cream, soup, cream, milk, mustard, and salt and pepper in slow cooker. Stir in the macaroni and give the entire mixture a couple of stirs.

4) Cook on low for 4 hours.

5) Serve and enjoy

I always start by spraying my slow cooker, as I hate scrubbing it after.

This turned out amazing! But I did discover that the three hour cooking time for too long for my slow cooker, and mine was actually finished in two hours and fifteen minutes. I've experimented with a lot of slow cooker mac and cheese recipes over the last few years, and this one was by far the best. Neil and I both loved it, and I will definitely be making it again in the future.

I highly recommend giving this recipe a try guys!

Thanks so much for reading, and I'll see you all tomorrow for Blogmas Day 21! We're getting so close to Christmas now :)

Della and Darby by Susannah B. Lewis Review

Happy Monday Friends :) I pray today finds you all doing well, and I'm so thankful you decided to stop by my little corner of the internet. My husband and I actually have this week off of work for a much needed holiday, and I'm excited for the many fun things we have planned. Aside from the fun things, I'm honestly thankful to have some extra time to get my house back in shape, and to get more organized for Christmas. I also hope to have lots of time to curl up with some great reads, and I recently had a chance to read one of my most anticipated 2023 releases! Earlier in the year, I read my first novel by Susannah B. Lewis, and I couldn't have loved it more. It was definitely one of my favorite reads of this entire year, and I've been looking forward to reading her next release ever since. If you'd like to check out that review, you can do so using the link below: Bless Your Heart Rae Sutton Otherwise, keep on reading down below for today's full review. De...

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest...
