Blogmas Day Nine: Christmas Party OOTD

Welcome To Blogmas Day Nine Guys!

We recently had our work Christmas party, and personally, I always find them super stressful. First, trying to get ready and look halfway decent while finding something warm enough to not freeze in the minus thirty below Celsius weather that we usually have at this time of year. Second, being in a banquet room with hundreds of people all crowded together at once, and Lastly, trying to socialize with everyone you possibly can without accidentally ignoring someone or not finding the time to actually eat, all while usually being exhausted from a long day at work preceding the party.

Lol does anyone else find their work Christmas party stressful? Or am I just possibly overthinking this?

However, I thought it would be fun for today's Blogmas to do an OOTD (or outfit of the day) post on what I ended up wearing to the party. I didn't end up purchasing anything new for the party, as I found a dress in my closet that I thought was perfect, and since I love seeing other people do these posts, I thought I'd go ahead and do my own today.

This particular dress is one of my all time favorites, and is actually a Betsey Johnson dress that I bought a few years back to wear to my engagement party. I love how it's a classic cocktail dress, but the flared skirt adds a little bit more fun to the average dress, and the long sleeves make it much more suitable for a winter party dress in Saskatchewan.

Unfortunately, since it is an older dress it's no longer available, but the Betsey Johnson website does currently have several other cocktail dresses that I'm currently loving, and that I think would be perfect for a holiday party: these two are my favorites here and here.

And since it was freezing outside the night of the party, I knew normal tights would not work for me, and so I went with my all time favorite Ponte Pants

And lastly, I decided to pair it with my favorite holiday booties, instead of normal heels, and I was so happy with how the look came together overall.

My booties are by Sam and Libby, and I purchased them back when Canada still had Target. These are very similar however, and I think would be a great addition to any holiday dress. :)

Thanks so much reading guys. I had so much fun sharing an OOTD post for something different on my blog today, and I look forward to seeing you all back here tomorrow for Blogmas Day Ten.

First Line Friday: Courting Mr. Emerson

Happy Friday Everyone :) Since it is Friday, I'll once again be participating in First Line Friday which is hosted by Hoarding Books .  For this week, I'm going to be sharing the first line from Melody Carlson's newest book, Courting Mr. Emerson. About The Book: When the fun-loving and spontaneous artist Willow West meets buttoned-up, retired English teacher George Emerson, it's not exactly love at first sight. Though she does find the obsessive-compulsive man intriguing. Making it her mission to get him to loosen up and embrace life, she embarks on what seems like a lost cause--and finds herself falling for him in the process. A confirmed bachelor, George vacillates between irritation and attraction whenever Willow is around--which to him seems like all too often. He's not interested in expanding his horizons or making new friends; it just hurts too much when you lose them. But as the summer progresses, George feels his defenses crumbling. The quest
